Let me narrate a few pages from my life. When I was in an abusive relationship, I had to do almost everything for my child, all by myself. Dropping and picking him up from school, paying the school fees, preparing his lunch/snacks/dinner, taking him son out to play, to museums, and parks. So I was […]

“Fake it until you make it” is a popular catchphrase that helps people to fake confidence before they actually get it. It is not only applicable for confidence in corporate sector. It can also be used for any situation. By any, I mean any. During the stages of physical and emotional abuse in my marriage, […]
Swimming is the only activity which I get to do peacefully, alone. 20 to 30 minutes are those precious and cherished minutes where I am in deep silence, doing nothing else but swimming. Though I am not a pro swimmer, I learnt how to breath outside water, all by myself. Well not exactly I took […]
I consider myself fortunate to have met a group like the phoenix family, especially during the most depressing and nerve-wracking phase of my life. They have listened to my rants, my sorrows, hopes and fears. Providing sound advice, helping and encouraging me at every step of this journey as a single parent. A warm and heartfelt shout out to the group admin and founder of the phoenix family, he's truly the soul of the group and the glue that holds all of us together. They're not just a group of friends anymore, they are family. Words cannot express how immensely grateful my daughter and I are to all of you. Much love.

I joined this group after months of apprehension. But it turned out to be a great group. I found that I can be myself without being judged. I can express views without being afraid of being seen in wrong light. I can discuss things that I was not able to discuss with my family or other friends. It is a great tonic for me to come out of the loneliness and meet others who are going through similar situations. In addition to this the admin and members work hard in keeping people informed about legal and professional knowledge. I would and have recommended people to this group. I also wish there would be more initiatives like this in other parts of India.
