Phoenix family has made a huge impact on life! M only saying this because, I met a friend of mine recently. We hadn’t talked since 8 years! She said that she had seen a drastic change in me. Accordingly, I was an extremely shy woman the last time we met!
But now, I am a whole new person!! I am more confident, determined and focused on what I want in life, not only that, I can manage and keep things well balanced which I could not have 8 years ago… For this drastic change in me, phoenix family is one of the main reasons. So thanks a lot for playing a great role in my life and making me what I am today!
When I was hunting for a safe, credible, sensible and useful group for single moms, I came to know about the Phoenix community. Initially, I was skeptical cos it was run by a single dad. However, I gave it a shot and since then, there has been no moment where I regretted for it. It’s a family of strong people, who are different from the lot and have beautiful perspective towards things in life. In this group, I feel at home and feel good to celebrate the good days, vent out on the frustrating days, cry on the depressed days and yet I know they would never look down upon me. The wavelength and the bonding is so strong that you can never fall apart or go wrong even if you wish to.
Hats off to the man who is keeping the group intact with his light headedness ( I didn’t mean it literally), wisdom, practical solutions and for giving a different angle to all kind of problems faced by the fellow members of the family. It takes enormous commitment and he is fantastic!!!
Looking forward to a great family/community for the single parents who can be rest assured that they will never be mistaken or judged, whatever profession they may be!!! I am myself, when am in the family….thanks to all the beautiful people out here….
I never knew about a Single Parent community in Bangalore , until I attended an event on a Sunday evening with Phoenix Family members on the topic – Into the heart of a single parent . There I saw a bunch of likeminded people who had also gone through their episode of hardship , battled against their darkness of loneliness , just like me .
Over the last 8 years , I just focused on my negatives , felt hopeless and it was really hard . My fears where many. Was I being a good role model ? Was I teaching them life lessons ? Was I able to give them enough guidance ? But my whole perspective of life changed after meeting the Phoenix Family .They helped me to look at things with fresh eyes . Being a part of Phoenix family means to be in the company of someone who won’t gamble with your heart , they give you honest answer right from their heart . Am happy to be a part of a phoenix family .
After the sudden dismissal of my loving husband, life for me and kids was like paused… we lost all the fun, laughter’s and family times we used to have together as a family … upon forced invitation I used to attend some gatherings and found that I don’t have anything common to talk nor anyone in this world had time to know what was happening in mine and kids life … One fortunate day got to know about this Family and a it happened that I and kids were part of an event and I got to meet most wonderful, patient, and loving people of this family … all were just like me and going through lives challenges alone and still each one was so persistent enough to listen to family members issues and give support n encourage them as much as possible.. . I had a strong feeling that there is a family which cares for me and kids too … at times when I felt low and to my surprise I would get a message from the admin or by any members of this family, just ask how I am and if I needed any help .. Its gods greatest blessings that I n my kids are part of this family. Thanks to Admin for going that extra mile to be there for all the family members … god bless and keep this going
I joined this group after months of apprehension. But it turned out to be a great group. I found that I can be myself without being judged. I can express views without being afraid of being seen in wrong light. I can discuss things that I was not able to discuss with my family or other friends. It is a great tonic for me to come out of the loneliness and meet others who are going through similar situations. In addition to this the admin and members work hard in keeping people informed about legal and professional knowledge. I would and have recommended people to this group. I also wish there would be more initiatives like this in other parts of India.
I have been pulling double duty from the time my little dumpling was born. Nevertheless, many a times I have felt completely lost and defeated. This community helped me gain back my lost confidence, realizing that I am not alone in this journey. I have thoroughly enjoyed the chit-chats, meet-ups, trips and candid discussions in our group. The urge to run away from life has reduced a lot since. The world just opened with its enormous possibilities and I started dreaming again!
I consider myself fortunate to have met a group like the phoenix family, especially during the most depressing and nerve-wracking phase of my life. They have listened to my rants, my sorrows, hopes and fears. Providing sound advice, helping and encouraging me at every step of this journey as a single parent. A warm and heartfelt shout out to the group admin and founder of the phoenix family, he’s truly the soul of the group and the glue that holds all of us together. They’re not just a group of friends anymore, they are family. Words cannot express how immensely grateful my daughter and I are to all of you. Much love.
I was afraid if I can manage life after my loss… But knowing all of you I gained the belief that I can survive. I used to cry for hours together though I knew he is not going to come back and crying will not change anything better. Sharing my depression with this group and the way you handled me gave the confidence that I have ppl on the same boat to help me and motivate me when I am down…. Now that I know I have the liberty to crib and feel low… I am not at all feeling low . If I had not known this group, I would have pretended to be happy in weekends and spent my time crying on weekdays. I would have entered depression without my knowledge…. Now I am sure that even if I want to go into depression I cannot .
Thanks for all your support. Thanks for bringing me into this group
I’m a new member. And while I have barely been part of this group for a couple of weeks, I already feel so warmly included. And even though I have not as yet shared any of my story with the group, there has been no pressure to do so. It’s comforting for a change to know that others are going through what I have and am going through. More importantly, through the various conversations and especially these testimonials I realise that I’m not the only one getting through each day trying to be strong and keep it all together. Something many others won’t understand. And the amazing thing is there is so much support to help you get through each day. This group to me seems to be one where strangers come together to become more than just friends…..a family by choice.
